Congratulations on your purchase, I think you made the right choice IMO. As for a macro lens I had a EF-S 60 macro when I had my 350D, it's very sharp and also makes a great portrait lens.
The only reason I part exchanged it was it doesn't fit my 5D being a EF-S fit. Why don't you ask to try the 50, 60, and 100mm macro, take the same shot and then go home and have a look at them on you monitor, and then make up your mind.
Just to confuse you a bit more the Tamron 90mm macro is also reported as a good buy.
