help:novice looking for new camera

hi,

can anyone out there help,i'm looking to buy a new digital camera nothing to expensive £150ish,it will be mainly used for holiday snaps, main thing in my list are 5 mega pixels minimum, good picture quality(obviously) and at least 2in LCD screen, and if possible video clips with sound(or maybe thats asking to much for the price range) i have looked at the samsung a50 and the a6 although the a6 has a 1.8 LCD,anybody got any thoughts on these or similar priced cameras,i would be really grateful for some advice.

cheers,

tel47.

You seriously want to look at this camera http://www.pricerunner.co.uk/photogr.../220197/prices

A fine camera, don't get too caught up on 5mp you can get 5mp cameras for £80 but they're utter rubbish. That is a well rated camera and a real bargain at that price. Moveis with sound. You'd have a job beating that at that price

Review here http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/a85.html

You might also want to look at this, seems great value to me at £143
Fuji Finepix E510 5.3mp
It ticks all the boxes you mentioned above and has got excellent reviews, steves digicams had this to say about it:
Quote:
The Fujifilm FinePix E510 has features that will please photographers of every experience level. Its outdoor results are terrific, making it a good choice for your travel photos and shots of your children's sporting activities. Its 5-megapixel images are capable of producing high-quality 11x14-inch prints, and its movie mode is handy for capturing short clips of family events. The E510's indoor results benefit from its wide angle zoom, good autofocus performance and adequate flash range. If you're looking for a stylish, pocketable family digicam that can do it all, the FinePix E510 is worthy of consideration and, with a street price of less than $300, it's an excellent value.

Sorry I think I must have been pis*ed, club book is scottish for catalogue e.g. next, littlewoods etc., but I was trying to be sarcastic. The argos catalogue is not the be all and end all of shopping for a camera. Try e-buyer, try empire direct, those are just a couple I have used but there are many other sites offering bargains pixmania to name just one.
Do a bit of googling and see what you come up with it can be fun.
