Although being a first time participant myself...I think there are many very good entries....
From a personal perspective; Why did I enter this competition?...
Well compared to some other Internet sites, the critisisme is constructive and friendly...It is not that daunting for newbies like myself....Hope it stays like that...

I think generic themes that allow more opportunities for entrants to take photos works. Choosing hard themes such as "noise" just didn't get the same numbers  . Take note this months winner.
Right about a hard choice......some excellent shots this month. I swing between well composed shots with that extra interest, to the simple & straight to the point "texture" shot  . I always give extra point to those who take shots in the month of comp though  | |

I'm a first time entrant myself and I have to agree with DJW, the theme was a big factor for me. I've looked in a lot of the last few months' comps and struggled a bit (guess I'm just not imaginative enough!).
It's going to be ahrd deciding.

There are so many good entries this month - will be really interesting to see who wins.
I'm off to Mallorca for 7 nights on Saturday and will have to find an internet cafe to allow me to vote and then also to see what the new topic is.......whoever wins - please can they choose "beach" or something Mallorca-friendly please? | |

I'm with electrolyte....I'm off to Lake Garda, so please choose something friendly...Beach or powerboats or Mediteranean women has got my vote ;-)
