Haven't got one, but if you are after pictures taken with it...Did you know you can search on pbase.com for lens specific information...

Here's an example for this lens...http://www.pbase.com/image/20713976

I've got one, pretty decent optically but not the fastest focus around (although speedier on D2x than my old Fuji). Debatable whether this 'ED' version is significantly better than the non ED version.

cheers,
Andy

Yep. The 'ED' is optically superior to the 'G' but the latter is very cheap and could well be a better bet if the ££ are a concern.

cheers,
Andy

If budget is the primary concern I'd go for the Sigma APO Super II 70-300. £150 or so and for my money is both better glass and better built than the 70-300 G Nikkor.

Thanks guys.

Budget is not the primary concern but it is important

I bought a Sigma 135-400 APO last night on Ebay. It was going for a song and is pretty much as new and still with warranty.

Looking forward to getting it

If it's too big or heavy I can always Ebay it on. Gets good reviews.
