Canon Powershot sx200is v Samsung ST500

Can any one comment on these two cameras, i have narrowed my choice to one of these:

Canon Powershot sx200is £179
Samsung ST500 £173

Any suggestions or experiences positive/negative. Your help/comments would be much appreciated.

Camera price buster only gives the canon a minimum price of £217.56, how do you get it down to £179? good price if you can

Re: Canon Powershot sx200is v Samsung ST500

Wife can get it from her workplace. However, from a novices point of view, i like the samsung, it looks smaller and more compact. I'm going to the stores to see how they both feel. It would good to see if someone technical could compare the two or have had experiences with them. I'm struggling to find anyone with the Samsung.

Re: Canon Powershot sx200is v Samsung ST500

I vote for the Canon, but it's somewhat bulky and aesthetically disappointing.

The Samsung has better over-all design, but it seems most reviewers are so impressed with the image quality.

I would also like to add the Canon IXUS 100 IS to the list
