Good quality compact digital camera £150 - £200

Dear All,

It is my wifes birthday next week and the heavy present hint is for a compact digital camera.

We have a Canon EOS 350D for general picture taking but she would like something pocket sized for quick snaps. Previous cheap, lightweight compacts we had just ended up going in the bin.

I would like to get her something capable of taking decent quality photographs that is reasonably sturdy with a good size display.

I know that probably equates to around 100+ different models but I thought I would ask you guys for some advice as you actually use them!

Thanks in advance for any info.

Re: Good quality compact digital camera £150 - £200

My wife bought me a Canon IXUS 851S at Christmas, 10MP, very compact, SD Mem and exceptional battery life. This camera keeps impressing me over and over, have to say the stabalising technology is awesome and let's you capture great Macro pics without a tripod. Here is one I took to show you what I mean.
Right within your price bracket too.

Thanks Lee. That's one for the short list!
