Question D60 - Zoom lens needed?

Hi,

I bought the Nikon D60 with 18-55 VR kit lens. I have saved up some money and I think I might have enough for 2 lenses I think.

Zoom lens - I was thinking of the 70-200 or 55-200. After reading through the forums, looks like I should buy VR. Should I go for Nikon or can I buy the cheaper option of Sigma or Tamron. I would like to spend about £150 on this.

Macro lens - I don't know much about this and where to start. I wouldn't mind if I get a bit of macro facility with the zoom lens till I can shell out more money for a proper macro lens. From what I can gather, macro lens cost a lot. Are there any cheapish versions? I would like to pay about £200.

Any suggestions?

- K

Re: D60 - Zoom lens needed?

do you mean the 70-300? If you can afford that then go for it, reviews are excellent (on my wish list if I win the lottery!)

Re: D60 - Zoom lens needed?

Under £150 the only VR option you have is the Nikkor 55-200mm, the next step up what I have the Nikkor 70-300mm VR will setup you back nearly £400.

Proper Macro lens you looking at £300 upwards.

Worth having a look I feel at either the tamron or sigma 70-300 lenses with macro option.
