Transferring movies from a Panasonic TZ3

I recently returned from holidays with a lot of photos on my memory card including three short movies. There is nothing shown in the manual about how to download these to a PC. With stills, I take out the card from tbhe camera and insert it into my card reader in my PC. I assume I have to download the movies by USB lead, but would appreciate any help with this please.

Re: Transferring movies from a Panasonic TZ3

You should be able to simply drag and drop the video files - which more than likely are located in a different folder than the stills.

Thank you. I'll try that. Can I still do via the card reader, or wll I have to use the USB lead?

The card reader should be fine. Let us know if it doesn't work, though.

Re: Transferring movies from a Panasonic TZ3

It didn't. I usually download my stills to Picasa and when the files were shown before importing, the movies were all on separate lines. But when I downloaded them they appeared withe rest of the stills in the library but only as stills. Still not sure what to do with them to view them as video files. Your help would be much appreciated.

Re: Transferring movies from a Panasonic TZ3

I have a Panasonic FT1 which I assume is similar in its handling of video files (it's new and uses AVCHD!). I connect via usb and use drag and drop for the video files. The video files on my camera are located in the PRIVATE/AVCHD/BDMV/STREAM folder on the card when connected. I use VLC Player to view the files. This is pretty much the de facto freeware video file player and plays pretty much anything. Get it here ... ::::::FREE VLC DOWNLOAD::::::
