Sigma 18-200mm dc os Nikon opinions please

I am thinking of exchanging my Nikon 18-70 lens for a Sigma 18-200mm dc os lens for travelling purposes.

Can anyone recommend this lens as it is much cheaper than the Nikon version.

Many Thanks

Dave

Re: Sigma 18-200mm dc os Nikon opinions please

I had the non OS version and it was a decent travel lens on a 6mp camera, though less so on a 10mp camera. I believe that the OS version is better optically.

I have the Tamron 18-250 as my travel lens now and it's very good throughout the range, much better than the Sigma. You would have to go for the Tamron 18-270 VC as you don't have in-body stabilisation, but it is supposed to be good and you gain a bit more zoom range.
