Tripod Mount Ring for Canon 70-200mm f4 - £119?!?!

I thought it would be a good idea to purchase a mount ring for the lens so it would be better balanced when the kit's attached to the mono/tripod - that was until I saw the price £119

There are a number on eBay, but are they any good or would they just fall apart when I try to attach them to the lens? Does anyone have any experience of buying one from either sources they'd like to share?

Thanks.

Yes, I purchased a tripod ring for my lense a couple of years ago for around £20. Well made and had no problems whatsover. Worth every penny. I notice that some are on sale for a lot less

Re: Tripod Mount Ring for Canon 70-200mm f4 - £119?!?!

I bought one for my Pentax 300mm prime (which was sold to me without its tripod mount) as it is virtually the same size as the Canon and they are very well made for the money.

Look for a Kirk alternative miles better, I have on on my 300/f4 Nikon and it is brilliant much sturdier than the standard one and about the same price.

Re: Tripod Mount Ring for Canon 70-200mm f4 - £119?!?!

I also have the canon 70-200 F4 L but do I really need the mounting ring?

It's near the same weight as my other lens which does not need one or is it a length thing..

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I'll be getting one from Hong Kong then.
The Kirk only fits Nikon lenses according to their website.
