Here's the update from 'my first gig'... it was great to have a brief and almost free reign to point the camera in places you wouldn't normally necessarily do so with strangers(!) so I had a good time and got to try out some things for the first time...
The brief was to get around a dozen photos that told the story of the day - people came along with their old hanging baskets, filled a few forms in, and then potted up a new one and went home and hung it up(!) simple enough. Half way through a pro-photography showed up to take photos for the local paper, so had a nice chat with him (and ogled his very nice kit

!).
Everyone was very friendly, i made sure I asked permission first, and the people filling the forms in notified them that there was a photographer. A few people then asked me not to take photos which is all fair enough.
So - here's the photos of 'the story'
and here's a few others I liked in general too.
All in all, a great day out. There was one strange thing which I didn't expect - no one seemed interested in seeing the photos... that was weird, since all my photos are typically taken to specifically show someone (mostly you guys!) - and even once they end up in their final resting place, i don't think i'll hear any more about them. Not that I mind, but something I didn't expect. However, assuming they like the shots, i'll get asked along to the next thing and we'll see how things progress.
Thanks for looking(!)
Nelson.
