Canon 450D - Lens Upgrade

We have had the 450D for a couple of weeks now (really pleased with it) and want to get a zoom lens to capture the grand kids etc so we reckon a > 200mm would be best. Can anyone suggest most suitable make / type to upgrade to - budget would be £200 max.
Thanks for the advice as always !

Re: Canon 450D - Lens Upgrade

The Canon 55-250 IS is a nice lens around that budget.

No problen getting a Zoom but how is that going tohelp you capture the grandkids , unless you mean you wish to shoot discreetly from a distance, or use it as a portrait lens

55-250IS is a very good lens for the money. Ideal lens for getting shots of the kids when outside as you don't need to be up close to them so you'll get more natural pics of them

Re: Canon 450D - Lens Upgrade

I'd reiterate Senu's point.

For budget zoom I have to say I'm mightily impressed by the Sigma 70-300 APO Macro lens. It's got more zoom than you state you want, but at that price range it's a solid option if it's the 100+mm end you're looking at. If you can afford to go a bit higher the Sigma 18-125 DC OS HSM could be very well worth a look.
