Crazy Cameras

Has anyone used Crazy Cameras?

I was looking at the Interfit EXD200 Flash Head Kit, which looks a good price.

Cheers

Re: Crazy Cameras

I have just seen a Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 EX DC HSM on that site that is about £50 cheaper than anywhere else.

I am a little dubiuos about them.

Would love to hear from anyone who has used them.

Re: Crazy Cameras

OK

I just rang a random compnay based in their building.

The Meridian
4 Copthall House, Station Square
Coventry, West Midlands
UK
CV12FL

he said there are lots of companies in that building, did a search for me and said that crazycomputers are not listed as being in that building. He thought it was a con.

Also free p&P ? why would a compnay with the lowest prices offer this, I'm not going to give them my money, I think its a scam.

Re: Crazy Cameras

Also (I really should start doing some work)

Why would a site selling equipment, offer a link to amazon to buy it from them ? and what ever product you look at they have exatcly 100 in stock.

Ok I'm finished now, shame as I'm going to get that lens, looks like I'm going to have to spend 15% more.

Sorry for the all the posts.

Re: Crazy Cameras

Rather bizarely they popped up on a seach I did the other day for a westcott umbrella via google shopping, it looked to good to be true then as they are hard to find in the UK and where rather conveniently cheap, I didn't get the wole buy from Amazon bit either, the link didn't work anyway.

Stay well away...

Exclamation Re: Crazy Cameras

I recently had my beloved Fuji F31fd camera 'nicked' and have been searching the internet for a replacement. They are making £150 - £200
on e-bay, used. Listed on Amazone as 'unavailable'. Two days ago up popped "Crazy Cameras" with '49 in stock' - "list price £543.99, Amazon Price £509.99 - 'Our Price £419.99'. These have not been made for two years (superseded by F50fd ) and the rrp was about £250.00. Amazone say it's "no longer available". - (at £509, or any price, - although pic. and specs. are still shown.)
Seems a VERY fishy business to me ......

Re: Crazy Cameras

Hello All,

I thought I would post on here seeing as you are all concerned about this and I have been able to find very little information on the internet about crazycameras.

I have ordered a small Canon camera from them, which comes to just over £100. They rang me the next day to confirm delivery address and the address my card is registered to.

After a few days I then became suspicious about the site and its layout, and also confirmation emails which did not contain a telephone number for them.

I am not covered for online purchases made using my debit card; I got myself pretty much prepared to lose the £100 I'd spent.

However I have had an email from CC saying the order has been despatched, and then I have received a further email from DHL showing the tracking status of my order.

It is currently in the USA and on its way to me....

I will let you know what happens...

Re: Crazy Cameras

Hi all

I regret not having seen this sequence of posts earlier.
I have ordered a Fuji digital camera from them (£141 inc post).

No telphone calls from them; mine go unanswered, just the dreaded music.
No emails from them after the standard one following order placement. No reply to my emails.
I too (foolishly) paid by Maestro debit card and will not therefore be covered.
I will post again if the item arrives but I am not holding my breath!

Is there nobody that can post a demonstrably kosher purchase and delivery example?

Cheers

I'm in the processing of cancelling my order. They're quick to take money, but I guess they'll take ages to refund it. I'm going to speak to my bank tomorrow.

And their 'cancel' button on the order page does not work. Only a pop-up saying they too busy to process cancellations.

So, I wonder who posted the best photo?

Re: Crazy Cameras

Well for those of you that want to know.. my camera came today via DHL..

But the rest of the order did not arrive. There should have been a battery charger and SD card with it. Here is a copy of the emails to and from them (start at the bottom!)

Hi Mr. Charles,

Thank you for informing us.

Our credit department already processed the refund for the charger.

Please feel free to email us for further assistance.

Dear Crazy Cameras Customer,

Thank you for your recent order (placed Jun 08 2009 14:41).

Your Order Number is CC-090608-154414-3872.

Your order has been reviewed and processed and the warehouse is preparing the shipment.

Sincerely,
Customer support Team,
Crazy Cameras.

Looks like its going to be a struggle for me to get my money back for the SD card and the charger. Thankfully its not a lot of money. The reason they cannot refund to the card I used is because I cancelled it, thinking it could be used by them fraudulently!

I would say to anyone thinking of using them, spend a little more and use a reputable UK company. Looks like I've been lucky to get the camera minus the accesories. I am going to complain if they do not refund the money they owe me for the other bits, I'm not sure who I'd go to, but I'll have to look into it. Hope this has been useful!

I imagine the want to know the 'best camera' so they can promote it on their site and put a great deal on their non-existent stock of it to pull some suckers in. Sounds like a really dodgy company - I for one will stay well away.

Hi again all

After much thought I am sorry Matt2002, I don't beieve a word of your posts. It doesn't add up to anyone elses experiences and everything you have posted could be drummed up by yourself if you so chose. Your slight problem with a minor part of your order (and everything else including supposed communication being perfect), is to my reading, absolute codswallop and a poor attempt to defend the indefensible. I believe you to be a fraud Matt2002. That's my opinion.

I don't see anyone posting verifiable experience with Crazy Cameras that reflects a positive experience.

There is too much evidence on the other side (This forum, facebook and other forums). [comments removed by admin - require proof of such allegations]

Maybe I'm an old cynic. What say others?

Please, if you agree, be vocal about it. Rogues like these must be exposed and others protected from losing their money.

Thats a real shame, If you want to believe that, thats fine with me. I have signed up on here out of the goodness of my heart in order to share my CC experience with people, which has not been a great one. I've gone out and bought the rest of my order from elsewhere.

People have been PM'ing me and I've helped them the best I can. I am advising people NOT to use crazycameras as it all seems very dodgy to me, if I am a fraud why would I be doing that. I still have to battle with them to get the rest of my money back.

I notice also you have a newfound status on here. Who is to say you are not from a rival camera company yourself?

You are way out of order accusing Matt of such things. I too have had almost identical problems with Crazy Cameras!

I ordered mine using my credit card and have been in almost daily contact with Halifax Dispute Team.

Unlike Matt, I haven't had a tracking number sent to me, even though they assure me that they have sent out my order!

I am going to use the number (very similar to the one Matt was given to track his order)

I'll post the outcome!

Re: Crazy Cameras

Yep Jenic, you got it in one.

I have to admit I hadn't come across the forum before searching Crazy Cameras following my poor experience.

As you observe from the limited posting of many contributers it may be others travelled the same route.

...by the way, still no answer to their telephone, still no answer to emails, still no communication from them, still no product, still no refund!

Re: Crazy Cameras

Hmm. Now slightly concerned - I ordered an EOS 500D from them a couple of weeks back (£610); lacklustre responses to "where is my camera" emails, and then received this yesterday:

==8<==

Thank you for your email.

We are so sorry for the error. We just noticed we have a major problem with our distributors
linking into our systems and have only now seen the full extent of the problem. We should have this fully resolved within the next 72 hours meaning we can have your products to you within 5 - 7 working days. If that is not acceptable to you, we can cancel your order and refund your card immediately. We can also send you a discount coupon for a future purchase should you choose to try us again. Once again, we are truly very sorry for the inconvenience.

==8<==

Sounds extremely dodgy to me - naturally I've cancelled the order, but I'm beginning to smell a large rat here. Wish I'd checked the forums before buying from them...I'll let you know if the refund ever shows up.

You could report them to trading standards, but I don't know how the law would support the claim for an internet based operation.

Exclamation Re: Crazy Cameras

Oh boy! I'm also having no luck with these guys, I ordered a Canon EF 70 - 200 F4/L USM, a battery for my 400D and a back pack on the 20th.

I needed the lens for this weekend so pushed a bit harder with them and got the following tonight :

We are so sorry for the error. We just noticed we have a major problem with our distributors linking into our systems and have only now seen the full extent of the problem. We should have this fully resolved within the next 72 hours meaning we can have your products to you within 1 week. If that is not acceptable to you, we can cancel your order and refund your card immediately. we can also send you a discount coupon for a future purchase should you choose to try us again. Once again, we are truly very sorry for the inconvenience.
Please let us know if you need further assistance.
Thanks!
Sincerely,
Crazy Camera
Customer Support Team

Look familiar ?

So I e-mailed them back and told them to cancel the order and refund my credit card, if not then I'll take it up with card issuer, I already contacted them to say it looked fishy.

Will let you know if I actually get a response from them!

Re: Crazy Cameras

Hmmmmm........your reply from Crazy Cameras looks very familiar!

I too had the same E Mail last week. Did exactly the same as you, cancelled the order immediately and forwarded the email to the Halifax credit card dispute team. I had made Crazy Cameras well aware that any correspondence from them was being forwarded on to the Halifax.

Checked my account today and the money they were so quick to take was credited to my account on 29th June. Fingers crossed, you'll soon have yours back

Re: Crazy Cameras

Grrr, this is infuriating. I fell for this site too, placing an order Tues evening. Tried to cancel on their site (as we now know, that doesn't work), tried to phone (get repetitive 'sorry we're all too busy' message), so rang credit card provider. The payment hasn't gone yet, but because it's been 'authorised' they won't stop it going. The only thing they can offer to me is that if I have problems getting it back they have a team who can help then. So so so frustrating that I have to in effect sit and watch the money go before I can start the chase to get it back.
Anyway, if anyone does decide to take further action against CC, I'd be quite happy to add my poor experience to a body of evidence if it helps.
