First few from France

Flew into Nice on Friday and then headed into Provence, the place is beautiful and hard to do justice, but here goes:

Nice (geddit) set john. The Negresco at night is a cracker.
Can't believe you were down on Nice beach with that Sigma 120-300 of yours though and didn't put it to better use. Or are they for the private album?

Re: First few from France

Very nice pictures of Menerbes (I think) brings back memories of holidays past.

I was very fortunate enough to meet and have a beer with Peter Mayle there back in 91, at the height of his 'fame'.

Thanks. Although not known for my subtle approach to life, even I would not want to be seen with a 120-300 on Nice beach claiming to be getting some shots of gulls - I would leave that to Holowlegs

Re: First few from France

Nice shots John. I hope to be going there in Sept/Oct. I will see if my Box camera can produce as good a night picture as your D300.
