Had a crack at a Wedding at the weekend

I was the lead photographer at a wedding for a friend at the weekend.
I did it on the cheap for them as my kind of present to them (arnt i kind )
It was a lovely day, the venue was quite small, so after a couple of hours i was just repeating my shots, and there were about 50 guests, so again it didnt take me long to snap them all. It was a registry office wedding and i was only required for the afterwards event, so only stayed for about 4 hours.

Here are a few of my shots for you. Oh and it was the first time i had a chance to use the 1D MkIII .... and im still learning it !!!

#1 - Got to have a reflection shot !!

#2 - This was handmade by a friend of mine, so comments on how well she made wouldnt go amiss.

#3 - Um, the dress

#4 - Love this one, not sure why i love it so much, but may be due to having food, drink, dress and flowers in the one shot.

#5 - Bride and her best mate

#6 - That was there all throughout the day !!

#7 - Bridesmaids

#8 - The happy couple

C+C welcome, but not from all you Pro Wedding Togs, that wouldnt be fair

All look great, really like 2, 4 and 6... The whole day looked nice and informal(if thats the right word). Excellent.

Re: Had a crack at a Wedding at the weekend

I'd certainly be happy with all of the shots if I were the client.
I can see why you like the one of the food. So many elements of the day in one fun and well executed shot.
The shot of the bridesmaids is another stand out one for me though. It's one of those photos that the girls and their families will be over the moon with as you've caught them so well.
Did you also do some more 'official' ones, group photos and the like?

Yes i did a list of 20 official ones, but even that was fairly tricky as the garden was quite samll for the shot of "everyone". The 17-40 got a fair bit of use.

Here is the garden from an upstairs window later in the day when most people had gone of to "refresh" :

Tough shooting in a space that small with that few people. Good job I'd say.

Good stuff - you did the right thing by concentrating on the detail.

Re: Had a crack at a Wedding at the weekend

Beautiful! Some really great shots and I echo what's been said before about the great job you did considering the tight space you had to work with. Love the shots of the handmade gift and the bridesmaids. The cake cutting shot is a cracker too.

Don't know what you charged but I suspect someone got a bargain

Ryan
