Toll Bridge
Just starting to go through some of the other photos from my weekend away, this is one of the first that I took whislt we waited for our food at the pub right by the toll bridge that runs over the estuary near to Barmouth in Wales.
The mist was just starting to fall over the hills opposite and I thought it made a nice scene. A little bit of processing to do various bits to it including a slight Orton effect over all of the scene except the bridge.
What do you think?

Re: Toll Bridge
Works well - I can see why you took it. Nice red boat in the foreground and the bridge leading off to the distance.

Re: Toll Bridge
I like it, I find the white at the very top on the frame near the left and right third markers a little bit distracting I'd possibly crop that out

Re: Toll Bridge
I like it - very pleasing. I'd like to see a larger version.

Re: Toll Bridge
 Good stong lines
I would clone out the buoy, its a distracting element. The red boat draws you in very well, then your eye lands on the pink/orange buoy.

Re: Toll Bridge
I am beginning to warm to this Orton Effect stuff
(just as long as its applied with a very light touch)
Very nicely done Steve

Re: Toll Bridge
Great shot, the mist adds atmosphere. I would also favour getting rid of the bouy.

The red boat was actually a blue boat but I decided to change the colour for effect, took me ages to sort the reflections out too as I had a red boat with a blue reflection in the water all around it

I think you are right, it needs a tad more off the top to get rid of the more dense white. The reason it is in this format is beacuse I didn't like the white sky at the top, it wasn't blown but it had very little texture so I decided to crop it down. I also had to add some trees and mist on the left hand side.

Absolutlely no reason why not, the original file is fairly standard and could have been taken by literally any camera.

I may have a look at that. I quite liked the buoy as it shows that the boat is static and can't move, but as you say, the photo itself may not need it.

Now there is something I thought I would never hear! I do like the way it adds a nice soft feel to photographs when used properly and I knew I would use it here when I took the photo initially, some scenes it just suits.
Thanks for the comments everyone

Re: Toll Bridge
Bring back the blue boat.
Nice work there, and a good crop.
