BIF (Bugs in Flight (not birds...))
Man this was a hard sucker to nail.
These things will just not stay still.
But persaverance, and my new 450D + 55-250mm IS lens nailed him in the end.

Good effort! Shows off some of the wing detail nicely. Pity about the background, and the orientation/angle and point of focus on him could be better, but I know how hard that shot was to pull off. Well done!

hmm, that lens is seriously impressive for the money. What settings? ISO & aperture notably.

Re: BIF (Bugs in Flight (not birds...))
Factoids: 250mm, ISO800, f8.0, 1/1000s
The light wasn't superfantastic as it was in the shade, hence ISO800 to try to get a decent shutter speed, and small aperture to try to get some decent DoF.

If you notice in my flickr, nearly all my recent shots have been taken with that lens.
It certainly is VFM.
