First off, I think programmes like this should be mandatory viewing for everybody! However the reason for the post is that in tonight's episode they mentioned a guy called Joseph Rock who explored the Hunan province in China in the 20's looking for new flowers. He recorded is trip using special glass plates to capture colour photographs of the plants he found. Quality was pretty good, but I bet he would have given his right arm for a D300 .
