This morning at an Icy reservoir
Blowing galeforce winds but the good thing about that is that the clouds change quickly so it can be gorgeous one minute and misty rain the next which gives plenty of opertunities for photos. (although rain does make using filter nigh on impossible).
I've posted a couple of shots from this reservoir near my home before aswell.
#1

10mm | 1/10 | F14
#2

10mm | F9
#3

10mm | F20 | 1/5s
C&C/whatever most welcome.

Re: This morning at an Icy reservoir
All are really good, great skys in them
I don't know if it's me,but in the 2nd shot the twigs or whatever they are in the water, the reflection of them makes them look unnatural.

Re: This morning at an Icy reservoir
Like them all, but #1 stands out for the textures of the foreground grass and reflections of the sky.

Yes Id pick #1 too... beautiful .
Nice stuff as expected
The high wind might have made the clouds look really great with the ND1000 on ally...did you take any with it?

Re: This morning at an Icy reservoir
Great captures again Ally, I notice from your Flickr page that your original download size is 950 x 674; can you explain your reasons for this size, as I thought that the longest size should be 800?

Re: This morning at an Icy reservoir
#3 is my favourite. The icy foreground is lovely. #1 and #2 dont float my boat as much - nice lead in lines but they are less interesting somehow.

Re: This morning at an Icy reservoir
Cool shots.
I like the composition and portrait aspect of #3.
#1 a bit too much foreground - would this suit a letterbox?
#2 great sky
all lovely colours.
tip top

Afraid I didn't Vulkan. I was wanting to try it but the nice sky only lasted for less than 10mins I also wanted to do the shot with the wind blowing into my face but I needed to move further down the reservoir to get some foreground as these shots were all taken from the end of the reservoir with the wind behind (or to the right in the last shot)

The forum allows pictures of upto 1280px however I think that the largest size that can be displayed comfortably by all users (say for people (like me currently) who only have a 1024x768 resolution) then I want my pictures as big as they can get without anyone having to scroll to see them. so take away 'a bit' from 1024 for the vertical scroll bar and browser border and 950px fits quite nicely.
Hope that makes sense?
Thanks everybody
