Nikon R1C1 macro flash - first test shots

Since it didn't rain today, I got to go and play with my new toy

These are just taken with the bog standard configuration - R200s mounted at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock on the adapter ring, 1:1 L/R balance, and no diffusers etc.

I think I'm going to have fun with this

Yup, very lucky - my girlfriend treated me (I have a long suffering partner who puts up with numerous AV/camera/PC indulgences). Of course she'll make me pay dearly in guilt for the next 12 months ...and I've probably blown my chances of a projector upgrade in this lifetime!

Body and lens is a D200+Nikon 105VR f2.8 macro - the shots were handheld.

Tobers - not an insect in sight today, not even any money spiders *sigh*, and our garden's looking a bit sad so I'm short on flowers too. One observation about this thing so far - black backgrounds behind subjects are a doddle - in fact the trick is going to be AVOIDING them, as the light is very localised.
