A trip to London before Christmas.

Hello folks, a belated Merry Christmas to all!
I'll wish you an early 'happy new year' to make up for it!

I've only just got a chance to share these shots that I took last Saturday during a trip to see the Christmas lights etc.
I managed to get a handful that I'm very pleased with so it was well worth all of the squeezing and shoving amongst the Christmas shoppers!

Anyway, here goes, hope you like.

10.45 AM

Round Round, Get Around...

Bright red urinal

Hustle & Bustle

Walk!

Debenhams' Christmas Spirit

Some big clock

Thanks for looking.

A great set there Tomato1. I especially like the London Eye and Red Urinal shots.

10:45 am, Round Round Get Around & Debenhams Christmas Spirit are the pick of the bunch for me. If I was to pick a favourite it would be #2.

Re: A trip to London before Christmas.

Thanks guys, I got a bit of a variety of shots which I was pleased with. A whole load of busy crowd shots or nothing but sight seeing shots gets a bit monotonous.

Cheers for the comments.

Re: A trip to London before Christmas.

Bump

Got myself out to Waterloo station to try and replicate said shot above... talk about surprisingly hard work! And looking at it now, I see you was at a slight angle, so had a "rollercoaster twist" look... damn. Tough though cos it was ram packed with people - is it half term right now? Will post a thread up after they all go through LR (need it!)

Re: A trip to London before Christmas.

Thanks LFC!

I was actually just standing around chatting to a mate and I looked up at the wheel from where I was and liked what I saw through the viewfinder so I took the shot!

I'm interested to see your version now!

nice set you have there. like the london eye shot and the 3 busy street shots

did you have to use a tripod for them?

Thanks bubble!
No, no tripod used, just IS.
Although to capture 'Walk!' I rested the camera on the top of a wall to get the 1/2 second exposure.

And thinking about it, I snatched my mate's monopod quickly to capture 'Some big clock' which was about a 1 second exposure.

I did take my tripod with me, but the streets were just too busy for me to even consider setting it up.
