dunnottar castle HDR b&w Dodge&burn

Happy christmas folks. Here are some pics of the stunning dunnottar castle about 20 miles from aberdeen. Taken on a 40d, 10-22, and 17-55 is. They have been HDR'd then turned B&W and dodge and burned. Hope you like them, comments good and bad welcome. Thanks for looking.

Re: dunnottar castle HDR b&w Dodge&burn

Pretty stunning set. When I saw the first pic I knew they were going to be good.
#4 is my favourite with that fabulous foreground object.
#2 I realy like the composition here and with the fence and path leading you into the picture.
#3 looks a bit soft
And I like the perspective that you have shot the last one from.
I wish they were my photos and now I'm envious.

Happy Christmas

Re: dunnottar castle HDR b&w Dodge&burn

#3 and #5 for me. I like the clouds focusing attention on the castle in #3 and the cool lead line on #5. #6 is nearly very good but the very light patch of sky detracts from the castle - worth a bit of cloning if you get a chance.

Re: dunnottar castle HDR b&w Dodge&burn

Thank you for the comments guys. Tobers is it the light patch of sky in the centre of No 6 thats distracting you?, i'll have a look at the original.

As for the original colour photos they are good but lack a bit of impact and have yet to work on them. They are also a little dark/under exposed. The colour HDRs are ok, but i prefer black and white HDRs.

I was shooting hand held and it was very windy. I tried to do a bunch of stiches but the light was fading fast.

I'll keep you posted as i work some more on them.

Thanks again for looking and for your comments, i have much admired all of your work and its great to get feedback from some of the forums great photograhers.
