Extention Tubes. Is this a good price?

Here. In fact they are £3-00 cheaper with code.

Re: Extention Tubes. Is this a good price?

That's a very good price brand new. I paid the same for a second hand jessops set on ebay earlier this year.

However, if you use ef-s lenses, then beware there may be compatibility problems. I think it's due to the construction of the ef-s lens. The most recent jessops tubes (which I bought) have a white dot and red dot on the side for alingment - signifying that they could be used with ef-s lenses (although I haven't actually tested this) - It also has digital written on the side. My tubes look different to those in the picture on the website - mine has different grip textures, and type. - I would confirm if the tubes you are buying are the latest version if ef-s is an issue.....

do a google search for forums on various sites discussing the use of ef-s lenses and tubes.

I would buy them, pick them up at the store and check what you're getting - if you need a picture of mine, give us a shout.

Hope this helps,

Mark.

Re: Extention Tubes. Is this a good price?

Thanks for the heads-up. Just bought some of these after reading that they can be used in conjunction with a macro lens to get even more macro-ey.

Good for the money. Construction is OK although I guess Canon ones will be better. Optically there should be no difference as there are no elements. I can confirm that AF works fine (even with all 3 stacked) despite the guy in the store saying otherwise and there's a slip in the box that says they work with EF-S. In any case, Jessops guarantee means you can take them back if you aren't happy.

Re: Extention Tubes. Is this a good price?

I have bought some of these aswel.
Got them being delivered as i couldnt get down to Jessops. They should be OK, and for that price i dont care.
There is no glass in them, just the inner workings for the AF, which isnt really an issue as for Macro you should be manually focusing.
Im going to stick these on my Nifty Fifty when i get them.

Cheers for the heads up.

Re: Extention Tubes. Is this a good price?

Brilliant.

Now got another set waiting for me at my local Jessops and when the more expensive set comes thats going back to Jessops for a full £33 refund.
That vouchers (and that im collecting in store) saved me £11 !!!!!
Plus Quidco got me 57p.

Just ordered these seeing as the weather forecast is looking shabby up here for the forseeable future

Re: Extention Tubes. Is this a good price?

Got mine this morning from Jessops and so far so good.
They are quite a decent piece of kit for £22.59.

I put on the 31mm and the 21mm (total of 52mm) and then put my Nifty Fifty on and got as close as i could

The firrst shot is normally with the Nifty as close as i could get that would give me AF and the second was with 52mm extra still with AF :
