Non smoking/pet free home?

Is the camera in mint condition, any scratches/marks/damage to the body or screen? Even hairline scratches. Any dust in the viewfinder?

Are you ever in London?

Smoke free, we've had a kitten for a year (but honestly the camera hasn't been out of its bag in that time only to take a pic as above

Not really in London to be honest

I'll have a detailed look at it tonight but I'm pretty sure it's immaculate

That link you sent me looks super complicated :s I'll have a look when I get a chance, I'd imagine genuinely not a lot at all but obviously when I can I'll have a go at the shutter count thingy

Thanks, no worries about the cat Smoke is my bigger concern.

A few more questions. Does it come with everything that was originally in the box? I see there is an energizer battery there, just wanted to confirm that the original battery is also included.

Genuinely interested, but was wondering if there can be any movement on price? I ask because the body alone is £280 here with 6 month warranty: www.mpbphotographic.co.uk - Used Secondhand Canon EOS 500D and the lens, I probably value around £50.

I'm sure the energiser is a spare battery, do the original is probably inside the camera itself, will confirm this though

Let me check prices when I get home and will get back to you, I had a quick look around last night and I thought my price is reasonable, especially since its genuinely had very little use

Like I said I'll try to find the actual shutter count but it was used probably like a handful of occasions

Thanks for the info. If you can confirm the rest of the info, when you get home, that'd be great.

I'd be willing to offer £295 del for the 500d kit, or £390 del for the kit + 55-250mm.

It should work on the mac. The shutter count is not a big deal, and willing to take your word on it that it's barely used.

Can you just confirm the battery and the condition tonight? When is the earliest you'd be able to post?

Just back from lunch mate, i checked and the camera is IMMACULATE, the original canon battery is also with it.

I cant let it go for £390 delivered though

Your getting a spare battery and a 16gb memory card thrown in, i'd like £400 plus delivery for the lot, and i think thats a fair price tbh

Only thing i dont have it the box for the 55-250 lens and cant find the lens cap although havent fully looked for it but presume they are peanuts off of that well known auction site

Thanks for the info. I'd be slightly worried about the lens getting damaged in transit without the lens cap... Is it definitely lost? I assume you still have the rear cap though?

How about £295 del for the body and kit lens?

hmm it may have been the rear cap?

might be able to have one of my brothers caps to post it out in if it come to it then i'd buy him one back.

Its still abit too low to what i was asking mate, when you look at the cost new. i know its second hand but i dont think there'd be a finer second hand one out there, just never really had time to use it

i'll have a think on your offer, and see if anyone else is interested first, obviously if you find anything in the meantime then thats fair enough

Mod Edit: eBay comparisons are not allowed

I'd be willing to go to £400 delivered for the lot? assuming the caps can be found and that the lens hasn't been damaged as a result of it being without caps.

OR, £300 delivered for the 500d+kit lens. delivery should only be around £10 via special delivery.

Apologies for the comparison to ebay (figured since it was officially done by the manufacturer it was different)

In any case, the offer is open, not too far off your asking price. I'd like to have this on Monday, so if we can come to an agreement today for it to be shipped tomorrow, that'd be great.

I'll have a look again for the rear cap tonight, but as its just been sat in a camera bag, either way I think it's again immaculate

Fair enough with the comparisons to refurbs but I for one have never bought any refurbed product purely on the basis that it's been faulty in the past, with or without warrant it's still something I'd personally never do

I'll let u know if I find the cap and also think on the offer
