New Build £600 Budget - pls spec

To cut to the chase!

Max willing to spend: £600
Already Have: Screen, mouse, keyboard, xfi soundcard
Want: Atleast 1tb hard drive, relative quiet (but not water cooling!)
Dont Want: glowy stuff, massive graphics (want to be able to play some older games but would prefer to save now and chuck something big in at a later date)... but would like a PSU which could handle a meaty card.

OS: I have found windows 7 pre order for £50... until then, I have heard I can use the beta for free... is this true?

Any suggestions? Ta

hi mate

re windows 7. yes just go to microsoft.com and download the rc edition. Although be warned your pre-order cant be upgraded from the beta, you will have to wipe your system and start again when the rc edition runs out in april next year.

You can get all that for £360 delivered. Just upgrade the graphics card next year.

Alternatively you could blow all your budget on a i7 rig. Just switch the mobo/cpu/ram to these....

Intel Core i7 920 C0 2.66GHz Socket 1366 8MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor 167302 12 in stock £207.00 £180.00 £207.00 £180.00

That would take you just over budget @ £612........but would last a few good years.

All prices from ebuyer.

Hope this is of any use.
