Returned Pure Chronos, considering Tempus 1XT instead... any experiences?

I returned my Pure Chronos DAB clock radio because (a) I couldnt turn the volume down low enough for night listening, (b) the display was quite bright, (c) I couldnt wake up to a different station to the one I slept to.

I am now looking at getting the Tempus 1XT, reviews look positive and its almost the same price.

Anyone own one and if so, can they answer a few simple questions?

Can you turn the volume down very low? The chronos went in steps and was either quite loud or off altogether!

Can you specify a different volume for the alarm to that set when you are in sleep mode? I believe you can also set a different station for the alarm?

How is the display on its dim setting?

THanks, these questions will help me decide!

Simon

You've probably been there, but the Pure Bug is feature-packed radio alarm, which will do most of the things the wonderful Evoke-3 does, albeit in a less aesthetic way!

It'll play your Evoke-3 recordings, record, play MP3s, has more alarms than even Rip Van Winkle would need and is... only £47 for a reconditioned unit, £80 new.

Install firmware v2.2 and it's a reliable little alarm clock.

Remember, Peter Beardsley wasn't a pin up, but he scored some great goals...
