Chronos DAB alarm clock - anyone opened it up?

Just purchased the Chronos (pure) alarm DAB radio and very pleased with it! However my only criticism so far is the volume steps, at the lowest volume setting it's still a little too loud for late night listening. I am considering opening up the radio and adding a resistor (either to the speaker or to the main amp) and wondered if any techy's have looked inside the chronos or maybe tried something similar! I can't see it will be difficult, may even be able to customise the display dimmer too!

Simon

UPDATE: Decided to return the CHRONOS for a refund. First off the minimum volume setting is too loud for night listening, secondly I miss an option to wake up to a different radio station and at a different volume to the one I sleep too (my Evoke 3 can do this). Thirdly the display whilst not uncomfortable on its dim setting is quite bright for a night clock. I don't think the Chronos offers enough value for money to consider keeping it.
If anyone can advise me on a DAB clock radio that offers the features I am looking for, please let me know!

Well that was boring!

I was expecting to see that you had opened it up and found it was powered by an ancient bug that piereced your skin, sucked your blood and gave you eternal life.

Ho Hum.

Re: Chronos DAB alarm clock - anyone opened it up?

I know it's too late for the OP now but I use the Chronos CD to wake to a different channel and volume to the one that was last on. I use the preset channels within the alarm settings. Still loses my presets on a regular basis though.

I agree that the lowest volume setting could be lower though. Easily another step in there. Not an easy display to see either once my contacts are out and glasses off. Well naturally you say , but at least with a red display, if I squinted and peered while I was half asleep I could guess the time. Now I have to reach for the glasses just to confirm that yes, once again, I've woken up an hour early.
