Evoke 3 mp3 playback - question from a prospective buyer!

Hi everyone,

Seriously considering the Evoke 3 as I would like a DAB radio. Wife is very happy that it can play mp3's on an SD card, but I would like to ask Evoke 3 owners if it's possible to create folders on the memory card (say for albums) and then play only the songs in those folders? Most other units I've seen just play all the mp3's in the root directory, I want to be able to select an album of mp3's (by folder name say) and only play those songs. Can this be done?

Please help with quick advice - Evoke 3 owners!

Can any Evoke 3 owners quickly tell me if the Evoke 3 will play mp3's in folders on the SD card, and can you just play those in a particular folder when selected. I want to create a set of folders for different albums and listen to each album, rather than play all the mp3's on the memory card in one long list!

Looking to get this radio very shortly and cannot try this out, so would welcome any advice!

Re: Evoke 3 mp3 playback - question from a prospective buyer!

I've got the Evoke 3 and i'm trying to figure this out also. I put folders on the card but when I play my 'night time' folder it plays them random then moves onto another folder! If I can't figure it out i'll have to buy smaller sd cards and have one for each selection. Apart from this i'm very pleased with the radio. If I find a solution i'll post back.

Edit: Ok i'm a dumb ass technophobe sometimes, it seems I had shuffle on as per page 11 of the manual, now i've turned it off it's playing all the tracks in the directory. I'll see if it stops at the end or moves onto another folder as I don't want it to do this.

Edit 2: Yes it plays all the folder then stops which is what I wanted.

Yes, the Evoke 3 will happily allow the creation of folders and will play back only the contents of the chosen folder. It will even recall which track you were up to and resume playback from the beginning of that track the next time you turn the Evoke on. By-the-by, I am very happy with the Evoke-3. I've owned it since Christmas '06 and it has been top notch.

Thank you all, I picked up an Evoke 3 from Currys (they matched their website price) and got to say I love it! Superb sound, amazing reception and overall very pleased with it! Now I'm looking at the Chronos DAB clock radio for the bedroom!
