Sky Radio

Hi,

wonder if someone could help.

I've got a hifi seperates system which still does the biz and now I've recently bought a plasma tv.
We often listen to sky radio channels such as virgin groove but I can't play this through my TV as I will get screen burn from the blue and white info bar that comes up.
Can't turn tv off or blank screen that easily so looking at option to play sky radio through my hifi.
What do I need, I guess getting from my sat reciever to hifi is one thing, turning tv on, setting the channel and then turning off the tv to get sound. (shame reciever isn't digital display then tv is out of equation totally.)

I do happen to have a spare free to view receiver kicking about (without a display), maybe I could use that to send sound to radio - which I think, scart to rgb will work as it goes but I must also split my signal into the first primary sky box.

Any ideas or pointers greatly appreciated, there's several bits I need to consider to make this work and someone might say, oh you need xyz piece of kit, job done !

This needs to be a viable project i.e not a big cash burner.
cheers
Kevin

Re: Sky Radio

This is what I use:

Just get whatever length you need, and connect from the 2 Audio Out terminals on the back of your Sky box to an Aux input on your HiFi amp. If you don't have a spare input you'll need something like this, together with an additional phono-phono cable:

As you'll see, not over-expensive and the sound quality is very good (comparable to my HiFi tuner with an external aerial) and of course you have the extra choice of channels.
