First of all I am very pleased with this radio received as a present.

But......after several factory resets and re-tuning with aerial fully extended, in an area with excellent Digital power (West Midlands), I cannot get the set to recognise this BBC service.

PURE say get it back to Amazon. I sent one back for another problem, which also failed to recognise this service. I did not report it as a fault as I assumed it would be a waste of time as a replacement was ordered.

A principal reason for having the set was the cricket commentary.... yeah right!!!

Any ideas, comment!

JRKILLOCH, I think you're referring to 5 Live Sports Extra, since that's where you'll find live cricket commentary? This station only broadcasts when there is a live event. If you tune in at any other time you will not find this station, however your radio should find Sports Extra automatically when it next broadcasts.

There may be NOTHING wrong with it...

If you mean Five Live Sports Extra, it's only available when something's on, so setting the presets outside of a transmission will not work, for example.

Try searching for the station manually whilst it's on e.g. mid-afternoon during cricket and then setting the preset then.
