| Jamo i300 and DAB Radio - A conundrum
Hi guys,
May as well come clean about the fact that I fall into the category of 'a little knowledge is dangerous' before we start to get it out of the way as will become apparent quite quickly I believe.
My problem is as follows:
Amongst other equipment i have an iPod (think it is third gen) and wanted to get more use out of it so bought some speakers for it (Jamo) - have to say these give an excellent sound to my untrained ear and look fab. The problem comes in that I want to have the option of listening to radio through it as well and (please don't laugh) believed the transmitter for the ipod that I had must be able to receive and all would be well - we live and learn.
My conundrum now is how to resolve the issue and spare my blushes. I have tried to research on here and looked around as much as possible and can think of three alternatives that are viable - am sure there may be more - and wondered if you guys might comment.
1. Purchase a DAB tuner and connect - not ideal as this set up is in the kitchen and the tuner might look slightly out of place - but could be way ahead.
2. Connect wirelessly to a computer and use that to obtain radio.
3. Buy a portable and forget the whole thing. Not keen as really like the Jamo.
My inexperience means that at this point I am slightly lost - which will offer the best sound, what should I buy and from where. I am open to any suggestions but want to resolve this as the wife keeps going on about it.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Simon
