iTech 'The One' DAB

Was looking for a DAB radio for the bedside and this caught my eye at only £34.99 from Currys. There's lots of DAB's about in all shapes and sizes but this one is very well built and by my reckoning one of the nicest looking ones out there.

Got it home plugged it in and got tons of stations on it straight away. Sound quality is excellent, it has line in/outs, an SD/MMC slot for MP3's and alarm clock on board and the display is very nice indeed. Also the 10 minute replay function is pretty handy as well

Not sure why on earth anyone would wish to spend more than this, it's a total bargain at only £34.99. I might just pick up another one for downstairs as I really am impressed with it

Re: iTech 'The One' DAB

Looks like the XFM DAB radio launched a couple of years ago around £130! I read a user review that wasn't complimentary (problems with it resetting itself, backlight coming on in the night etc.) and decided against it. If they've fixed the firmware and dropped £100 off the price it sounds like a bargain!

Yep that's the one, but this ones got none of those problems you mention.

I've only had it a day and it's a stonking bit of kit, compared to everything I looked at this weekend it's probably still worth over £100 if you ask me. No brainer at the current price.

Re: iTech 'The One' DAB

Mine was a disaster and went back after 1/2 hour. Any button you pressed on it turned the volume up!
I wanted it to be good as it looked great and build quality was excellent.
Glad your one is good!

Re: iTech 'The One' DAB

Mine's fine............also got it for £35 at Xma$.

SD playback ok.........no track listing etc, dos type short naming required.

10 mins replay.......is not a rolling 10 mins buffer........ie if you pause for 2 mins, then after 2 mins of replay listening you return to minute 4 of the show (losing minutes 3&4).

ALARM has to be reset every night......doh I keep forgeting, so now have an 2nd battery alarm clock just in case....plus mobile (I hate mornings).

DAB reception very good, the telescopic aerial on mine only needs to be extended just beyond the width of the radio, and can stay horizontal.

btw the quality of the packaging is amazing, and does reflect its £130 orginal price.

If anyone has found any firmware, which can sought out the ALARM daily reset, and 10 mins non-rolling pause, please let me know..........still a bargain though.

Re: iTech 'The One' DAB

Any idea where these are still in stock? It's not on the Curry's site, and Amazon are saying that it's been discontinued.

Help appreciated.
