Car audio input

Hey. Not sure if this should be on this topic or actually on this forum at all. And to top it all off, it may be a stupid question anyway! But sometimes you have to look like a plonker to learn somethings. I have a motoring audio question.

Currently have my mobile phone hooked up to my car radio via auxiliary input and use it as an mp3 player. I use a male to male 3.5mm jack.

I have no control over my music via the radio controls and have to use my phone to change tracks.

Here's the daft question. Is there any kind of 3.5 mm cable I can get to enable me to gain control via the radio buttons? I have no other connections on my car (ie USB).

As you may have guessed, audio electronics is not my thing.

Hi

I'm afraid not. The only ways open to you, as far as I can see, are:

1. Change your radio for one that accepts mp3s on disc, memory card or usb stick. You will then have to transfer your music onto one of these media.

2. Get an in-car FM transmitter. These also accept memory cards and, often, usb sticks. You will have a remote to control your playback options - changing track/ folder etc.. This is the cheaper option.

Maybe someone will be able to suggest another solution.

Cheers
