how do i connect a Screened Triplexed Module

hi all.....
trying to get cabling sorted out for a change around and the other day i bought a fm aerial from screwfix as i've found the tv coax through a booster still does'nt give a great fm reception.....
was looking at one of these today
Screened Triplexed Module - Screwfix.com, Where the Trade Buys

i found one in b&q but no instructions how to connect it up?.....thing is it said 'one cable in' only needed........but to be able to use sat/tv and fm....hows that going to work with just one cable in?......i've a sky sat cable already in and not used in the room so i did'nt know if this could be used for a fm signal?......only interested in fm and a sat socket for use possibly in the future......
would one of these screened modules do the job of fm and sky if that was the cable of choice that i fed in?

...cant seem to find connecting instructions online so any help would be most appreciated.
cheers.

You need some sort of combiner that you connect all the different aerials/dishes to. You then have a single drop lead to a triplexer faceplate to separate out the signals.

I use a Proception Loftbox, because that allows me to distribute to more than one location.

cheers for the reply...
so basically.....the only ways to get a decent fm signal is use tv aerial via a booster box or seperate fm aerial.....
cant make use of the sat cable for an fm signal?

Separate FM aerial is really the way to go. No, you won't get an FM signal from your sat dish, if that's what you meant?

You can use your sat drop lead to send all the signals down to the lounge though by introducing a combiner. Check these out: starBOX Home RF Hubs. You can buy them here: PROception proSTR5S - starBOX Home 5+1 Solo.

HTH.

Re: how do i connect a Screened Triplexed Module

thanks again.......
bit pricey........but is the signal you're going to get worth paying out for/better than putting up an aerial?.....i bought one of those ombi type ones....
VHF/FM Omni-Directional Aerial & 10m Cable - Screwfix.com, Where the Trade Buys
....which if i'm going to put up will be just below the roof....
did have a quick look at some external 'loftbox' type things....thing is getting power to it.

thanks again for the help....any other thoughts?
cheers.

Re: how do i connect a Screened Triplexed Module

I think you're misunderstanding me.

A loft box does two jobs....

1. It combines all the signals from FM, DAB, VHF & Sat and allows you send them down one drop lead. You then need a diplexer/triplexer face plate to separate the signals again.

2. It allows you to distribute all these signals to multiple locations in the house, by means of the return lead.

You don't have to buy a loftbox if you don't need the functionality in 2. Just buy a passive combiner. Check the TVAerials web site for products.

You will need separate aerials for TV and FM whichever way you go.
