AV out to AV in

Hi there,

I am wanting to use my Philips PET 810 portable DVD player as a monitor for my camcorder but it only has a AV out socket. I wondered if any of you boffins out there know if it is possible to addapt the socket to recieve as well as send an AV signal. I'm thinking of something like 'the widget' which would convert old DV videocameras so their firewire port could recieve data as well as send it out.

It's a long shot and I've already had some negative advice on the subject but where there's a will...

Many thanks
