Can Adagio utilise a PC hard drive
Hi there,
This is my first post, so i thank everyone in advance for any help.
I am thinking of building a system around a Crestron Adagio AADS or AES.
I have 3 main questions:
1. The processor in the Adagio AES is the same flavour as found in the PRO2, however it seems to be significantly slower. I am intending to use the Adagio to control:
Pioneer 50" screen
Arcam DVD player
Arcam AV9
Lutron lighting system
Motorised blinds
(+/- any control/activation of PS3 when it comes out)
As well as the multiroom audio. (i unserstand that i may need to expand the number of RS232 ports, but was just wondering if the processor would be able to handle control of all of these, or would i need a processor working in parallel (ie CP2E)
2. I have been looking at the Adagio audio server, however i have also just built a media pc (with no moving parts) that I think would be a real waste not to incorporate. can the adagio systems use this PC as a hard drive based audio server and therefore replace the need for a separate audio server. If so, does anyone know how to make this happen and also whether or not i can use the PC for multiple audio outputs to the AES so that different pieces of music can be played simultaneously in multiple zones of the house. Would i need extra PC based audio equipment and do i need special music server software to make it all work, and how would the Adagio recognise the PC?
Sorry for all the questions, hope some of them make sense.
3. One last question: I have been given some crestron equipment by my family and intend to purchase the remaining items, however i am finding it difficult to find an installer/programmer that will connect the equipment as they did not supply it. I understand all the reasoning but this obviously puts me in a difficult position as i do not want to have to discard perfectly good equipment.
Does anyone know of any installers/programmers in the London area that would be interested in work, be they freelance or company based?
If anyone is interested, please let me know
Thanks again for anyone reading this rather long post.
