DIY multiple source/zones

First time poster...I am currently under a gut rehab and have all of my walls down to the studs. Before the drywall goes up I want to prepare for a multiple zone audio/(possibly video) setup. I want three/four zones (Livingroom (main 7.1 system), kitchen, master bedroom, and bathroom. - What would one need in order to prepare for this? My main cabinet will be in the bedroom closet (I would like it all out of sight). Please school me or direct me to where to run the video/audio/cat5 cables (from main/panels/speakers/tv/etc...).

Beyond audio cables for speakers, I have little knowledge what is out there. I'd rather build a system than to buy a Nuvo type system. For me, the conduit placement is most critical so I can fish wires in the future. Thanks for your time!

I am in a similar position as you, did you get sorted? This whole wiring is giving me a headache I want to make sure I am wired for the future and I dont want to miss anything!

Why? If your an experienced electronics designer and can prototype your own boards and do all the design then OK, if not you'll cobbling biots togetehr trying to get them to work sort of. While a pre designed system has limitations it will do what its designed for.
