hey guys
i was hoping to get some suggestions here
beside of nestreams, crestron/AMx anyone working with a system which enables the user to control av, light, curtains, and cctv all together?

i know living control does the lighting+ curtains with rako as a bonus which works a charm but what about cctv

any suggestions?

also anyone worked with iq request before? are they any good?

Re: multiroom solutions please help

Use a combination of the above and tie it together with Prontos, works well for me on small to mid range jobs.

Dupe...

I like IQ Request, have installed it on one occasion and always looking to put it in other places.

Installs really well, just make sure your back boxes are straight and the little 3.5" Touch Screens fit into the Double UK bracket, you just need to drill the correct mounting holes.

New features like internet radio and it looks like there are some new touch screens according to the US site.

I think you missed my point there bud.. i am really looking for a system that would allow control of AV, lighting, curtains, and get cctv feeds..hvac would be a bonus (not important) but i don't think that's possible unless it's the amx/crestron way

From memory iq will do ip cctv but only on the larger touch screens.

I think it will do some basic RS232 instructions and certainly IR instructions.

But to be honest, you will now be getting back into the DigiLinx price bracket (I am on-site with an install now) and it almost works out of the box with everything.

i did indeed but their' own branded" lighting seems abit basic don't it? perhaps doing it seperately however after a good research it does seem that with control4 imagination's the limit. i may have a think about it. but the lighting is such a downfall because having lighting seperately would mean you won't be able to change lights from their wireless controller.. if only they could sort something out with rako that'd be great!

What are the CCTV needs? Prontos will show IP cams on the display when you press the button. But a doorbell for example would not automatically bring the screen up for you to see who is there. This is a more integrated solution with something like Crestron or Netstreams. However I still like it. I love the ReQuest stuff too and am also really looking forward to doing a big one. For small/medium budget I have worked a combination of Living Control server, Xantech audio switching and amp, AVATrix video switching, Lutron or Rako lighting and Pronto control. The remote can show the cameras, the audio files on the server, the lighting status, can control all the blinds and lights as well as the AV, and the Xantech can be doctered to play a doorbell chime through the ceiling speakers and mute the audio when the doorbell or gate button is pressed to allow you to go to the nearest controller, take a look at the camera and open the gate either with the remote or any of the telephones in the house. Bit messy considering Netstreams does this out of the box, but for a certain budget and level of complication its a nice bonus.

thanks liam, I appreciate you breaking it down a+b for me. I actually am aware of this solution, I think XAntech does some pretty clever stuff aswell when you mix and match. pardon me bud, when you say .

[QUOTE= "take a look at the camera and open the gate either with the remote or any of the telephones in the house."[/QUOTE]

is it a specific security or gate system that coudl work with pronto? or seperate?

i think all living control need now it's a processor/control processor with pip on their keypad aswell

anyhow any idea what the crestron cp2e prontoscript does? i know it coudl allow the tsu9600 to control the cp2e but has anyone really done it yet?

It's a hack I did for a client. There was a gate entry system to the main car park and the handset was up on the main floor where you couldn't really hear it from the basement where the family room and kitchen were. So we put an IP cam outside aiming at the main gate and patched off the gate entry system and fed it into the Xantech. When someone presses it the Xantech mutes the speakers and plays a chime. You can pick up any of the prontos, press GATE and look at the gate camera and press open to trigger the gate from the RFX9600. We then put Xantech door entry on the front door which triggers a second kind of chime through the speakers to alert the homeowner to go up to the front door (and again can look on the pronto to see who it is). The RFX9600 used a 12v trigger output rigged to the relevant wire that was the button on the handset in the hallway to trigger the gate to open. I didn't think it would work but one of my installers did something magical

I' don't sell many Control 4 lighting products - If only they made a centralised system or even a grafik eye clone...We use Lutron Homeworks with Control 4, there is a really good 2 way driver written for it which lets you control all the Lutron circuits and any blinds with proper feedback, and also allows you to control the C4 system ie AV, volume etc through the homeworks keypads.
