Hi,

I have recently moved to Dubai and living in a residence that has an Opus 500 system installed with all the trimming (touch remote, vsu500 etc..).

The problem is there is very little in the way of instructions. Do I have to buy IR emitters to control my Samsung DVD players or DU STB (IPTV TV provider)? and if not how can the the MCU500 control these devices?

Despite there being an OPUS installer here and they have tried to be helpful the language barrier is causing a little confusion. As it it not my apartment I'm not that keen on spending money I don't need to .... just a bit patients programming the remote I guess.

Also what are the best solutions to improving composite video signal quality. I have used a good quality lead at both head end and TV end but I seem to get very faint flickering lines randomly across the picture. It not enough to make it unwatchable but it is enough to notice. It was worse when I used poor quality leads you get in equipment boxes though.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I suggest you contact the UK Head Office and explain the issues, OPus have a dedicated team in Dubai who can probably help, but the codes for your DVD and STB will need programming into the system.
