TV wallmount, Homecinema, hide boxes???

Hi Guys,
To begin with i am completly new to this, so please correct me if i say something wrong.

Setup

As this is going on the wall, i want to move the skyHD, home cinema and blue ray away to under the stair case. So what should i do and how to set it up?

Also i know i would need some kind of IR Extender, so which one should i look at?

You should go for a Xantech dinky link, they are the best that I've used. You just need to run some 2 core fst or similar cable with your sky and bluray hdmi cables so the ir receiver can sit on your monitor. I'd would put a run of 5 core coax and some audio in with it so you have the option of adding a pc or component source at a later date. You didn't mention an amp so I'm assuming your audio is running through your set.

As Roscopip said, if you are using a surround sound amp, you could use this to do all your video switching, which would minimise your cable runs.

Alternatively you could use a switching matrix, some of which provide your with IR control and pass through.

Two other alternatives you could use are some form of RF Remote control, like a Harmony 900 or 1100 or even a lower end Pronto / URC / RTI remote.

Finally you could just use lowly Coax TV Cable to pass IR signals using the same technology as Sky use for their RF2 control.

NB. These are all listed in sort of descending price order to help with budget ideas.

If you re-search for a TV-Link+ kit from Global and that fits in the cupboard and then a Sky Eye at teh TV end.

Alternatively have a look at the stuff from Blue Delta, we use them quite a bit for these sort of things.

BE aware i dont think you can use TV link+ on a cable carrying Sky or virgin signals so install an extra one for IR. ALso as you have some very nice kit you may it better to go for "not the cheapest possible option"
