jvc crt, brownish tone

hi guys,

got this old 29" jvc crt. sound still perfect. picture and colour still good when watching news or life programmes. but when watching movies on tv channels, the colour becomes brownish. it loses its bright green/bluish tone. like watching aged war movies.

have adjusted the brightness and contrast to 80% level and its helps a little.

before i dump the set, any simple fiddlings can i do to improve the colour tone? not worth a repair.

thanks.

Press "i" and Audio Mute simultaneously to get to the Service Menu. From there you can get to the RGB Drive settings. It's likely that this will provide only a temporary fix and it will get worse as it sounds like the tube is dying.
