Standard Definition TV and component PC output

Hey guys,

I have a Toshiba 36" picture frame CRT and have been running a HTPC happily over S-Video for some time. However, I just bought a new graphics card which supports component output (ATi X800 Pro). Thus far, whilst I have been able to get output over component, it is only working at 640 x 480. If I go back to s-video, 1024x768 is possible, but the readability of text is poor.

What I want to do is output at 1024 x 768 via component to improve quality. I have tried every setting in the Catalyst control centre - and had a dabble with power strip to no avail. I even tried to duplicate the exact powerstrip settings that work on s-video using component to no avail. Am I just barking up the wrong tree or is there a solution?

Any help would be appreciated!

I think the 36ZP48 only supports Component Progressive Scan @ 640x480 (480p) unless I'm mistaken.
