What to do with £400?

Hi group - first time posting here, but from reading others everyone seems very helpful!

I have £400 to spend on a TV. I don't mind if it's 24inch or 28inch - my primary concerns are picture quality rather than sound since I'll be running it through a home cinema system (most likely the Panasonic SC-DT310). I don't need many connectors - just DVD and VCR.

The models I've looked at so far include:

Panasonic TX24PS1
Sony KV28LS36
Sony KV24LS35
and the Thomson 28WH201S

Does anyone out there have any experience with these TV's or have any opinion on any of those brands? Or, if you've just spent £400 on your TV, what did you buy - and are you happy with it?

That's a lot of questions, I know - so thanks in advance for even the smallest snippet of info.

David

If you can stretch a bit further you can get this ,if you have sky you can move the box for fta, and if you don't you can use the freeview reciever built-in. Top set for the price.

You can have a Panasonic 28PS1 for £391 from Techtronics. Was £370 about 6 weeks ago when I bought mine from them - but you didn't want me to tell you that..!
Pleased with mine - fantastic picture from Tosh SD330 DVD.
Hope that helps.

I'm looking for TVs in the same price range... would you say 28" produces better/sharper images compared to a 32" set?

I'm kinda set on a 32" set, but maybe I'm just being greedy here.. there's only 10cm difference compared to 28" after all... and you seem to get more gubbins for your dosh too...

32" @ £400 will be a very budget model unless you go S/H i would look for something like the JVV mentuionec above or the Phillips LG do some cheap sets but either the JVC or Phillips will be better, stay away from Phillips with the AV10 Chassis as theyt are foerever doing wrong!!! might not be any off the old ones around but if you go for an older model on a good deal if it does have the AV10 chassis get extended warranty as repairs are £150-£200 and they ten
d to go between 12 & 30 months Old!!!

Anything to compare with this at a similar price?
http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/produc...N-TX28PS1C.htm

I've been advised 28" would probably be better at that price range as I do most of my TV watching through Sky... like you say bigger size at same price = buget model

I thought that set had been discontinued (might be the PS10 that has but best check stock over the phone before ordering!

A nice set but try and see it side by side with http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/produc...C-AV28T25S.htm or if dont have a seperate Audio system the AV28R25S is worth the extra £30 for a much better sound quality http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/produc...C-AV28R25S.htm
