Toshiba 32ZP48 Picture Problem

I bought a Toshiba 32ZP48 in 2004 and it's been a great TV until now...

This week the picture has started playing up, there is a shimmery type effect which is more prominent on bright shiny backgrounds.

It's hard to describe, but it's almost as if there are contours around certain images and it make4s 24 look like a Kraftwerk video from the 80s!

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is it an easy and cheap fault to fix or am i better biting the bullett and going for a LCD.

Please help!

Thanks in advance

The fault seems to have fixed itself! Switched on TV last night and this morning and the picture is fine. I'm not holding my breath though, i'm sure it'll return....

Re: Toshiba 32ZP48 Picture Problem

As expected the problem came back....

I called an engineer round and he recognised it as a problem with the DFS Module and said these are approx £140 to replace + fitting.

I put in a call to Toshiba and the girl new all about the problems with these TVs and they immediately offered to replace and despatch the part free of charge - i didn't even have to ask!!

If anyone else has the same problem, i'd definitely recommend putting in a call to Toshiba.

Well done Tosh!!
