1080p CRT!!!

Does anyone know how I can get my hands on this or something like it? It's a NEC 37" monitor. According to the forums I've searched it should be able to natively display 1080p and it's a CRT!!! If this can be equipped with a (HD)TV-tuner and PS3/Blueray, I'd guess it would give the definetly best HD image ever. Can anyone imagine a better image than a 1080p crt, and 37" isn't bad.

Manufacturer's product description

The MultiSync XP37 Plus is a high-resolution presentation monitor for CAD, workstation, and imaging professionals. It is ideal for tradeshow and rental use. The MultiSync XP37 Plus offers the broadest compatibility available in any 37" presentation monitor with a 95 kHz horizontal frequency range. The XP37 Plus includes all the features of the XM37 Plus offers, plus signal compatibility up to 1600 x 1200. This makes it ideal for presenting material created in a high-resolution workstation environment and for rental duty, where it won't encounter a signal or source that it cannot display. The XP37 Plus gives you an input panel that can accept up to four different sources (two computer and two video) simultaneously. Loop-through on each input allows you to run multiple monitors from a single input source and RS-232 control provides ready integration into room control systems. User controls can be accessed from a handheld remote and NEC's intuitive OSM control system allow easy navigation through a comprehensive range of image adjustments. The XP37 Plus is designed for the customer who requires SXGA or higher resolution today and needs the highest horizontal and vertical frequency compatibility to perform with virtually any workstation graphics mode.

PS: Seems like there is different models, as I find this monitor in both 1600 x 1200 and 1024 x sevenhundreandsomething, but I'd have to check this out. If it can really display 1600 x 1200, then this is the best ever!

Re: 1080p CRT!!!

Could be studio equipment, in that case it will cost a lot more than a KRP600!

Re: 1080p CRT!!!

Well I just found a used one in Exceter (is it spelled right) to 150 £. But I'm always sceptic when the prize is that low. But anyways, if it doesn't work proparly 150 £ isn't that much to lose. But I'd like to find one in the US, since there's a Norwegian company I trust that ship easily from the US.

As long as I can afford it, I would rather have a CRT studio equipment that can display 1080p, than a plasma, as long as it can be connected to TV and Blueray.

Re: 1080p CRT!!!

I'm not so sure about your plan, I'm afraid

If you could find a 37" 16:9 1920x1080 CRT TV, you'd be onto a winner! But I don't see the merit in a 37" 4:3 1600x1200 CRT monitor.

I just don't think this is feasible, on many levels!
