Has anyone got an old remote spare from any of these sets?

I've got a 14" combi tv/vcr which I want to still use but I don't have the original remote control. Its the same remote as on these televisions below. Maybe someone has had their tv go faulty but still has the remote. You don't need to suggest a one for all thats what I'm currently using but it doesn't do all features. As you can see below its a common model and looks like this;

Re: Has anyone got an old remote spare from any of these sets?

The set probably isn't worth the cost of one of those remote controls. If I was going to spend £13 I'd probably put it towards another portable.

A Poundshop remote might do the job - especially if you can find one that actually lists any of these models.

The basic one for all remotes and universals do support this model but you lose a lot of functionality like teletext, sp/lp speed selecting and various other minor features. Thats what I'm currently using and it does suffice but is just not ideal.

I don't see the logic in that

Well its an old set near the end of its lifespan and £13 seems over the top for me personally just to get about 6 extra working buttons. I take your point if it was a lovely sony trinitron or something but its a basic bush model cheap as chips when new. Picture is ok/acceptable, sound is basic mono only. I was really just thinking of £2-3 to pay for someones old remote including postage. Which is what I ususally sell my old remotes on ebay for, 0.99p start and postage on top. If they sell they normally go for the 99p.

Re: Has anyone got an old remote spare from any of these sets?

Have you heard of Freecycle? Here's your local group:

The Freecycle Network - about the Yeovil Group

Join up, you'll need to offer something before you ask for something, but that should be no problem - any item that would otherwise go on the council tip (ie, it can't be non-material) qualifies - I've given away a TV, printer, old hifi system (which I now regret )... it could be a teapot, broken breadmaker, anything! It doesn't matter if no-one wants it.

Then ask for the remote control - failing that you are very likely to get a "new" portable TV with its own remote I got an old Matsui, shocking picture which was perfect once I added a Freeview box.
