What happens to all those supposedly faulty sets that get replaced due to complaints from customers. I wonder if they just get boxed up again and shipped out to some unsuspecting and not so demanding punter. I've just rejected my PD30 and will be receiving another. If that's still bad its off to Toshiba for me.
Or I wonder if I can get my old set back from the insurance company?
Fixed by the manufacturer (if economic) and sold as 'graded' by people like Robert Whyte and many others.

The DVD players (were they Wharfedale or Bush?) that wouldn't play e.g. The Matrix properly resulted in a BBC Watchdog item.
As a result , Tesco took them back .
Allegedly they re-emerged for sale by Tesco in Ireland !
