Sony KD28DL11 Buzzing Noise

Pic:

We've inherited this TV at our uni digs from a family member, only 3 years old and from what he said he didn't use it to heavily, as he brought an LCD , so was more of a bedroom TV, so I'm not concerned about useage/ treatment of the TV

However, at certain times when I'm watching it there is a buzzing noise coming from inside the TV, (was obvious when standing close) not very loud, but it's loud enough that you can just about hear it, a really annoying buzzing noise, I've got a freeview box running through it, and have changed both the scart and the box, but the noise still comes back

I have no idea what this could be so was hoping somebody could help shed some light on this

Thanks

Re: Sony KD28DL11 Buzzing Noise

Hi

TVs have many coils inside, any one of these coils could be fribrating.
Not always easy to find which coil is vibrating, but otherwise quite easy to fix for a tv engineer. Nothing to worry about, if its not too loud.

Thanks for your reply
Its annoying enough as its very High pitched but Im
guessing an engineer would be very expensive especially considering its a CRT

Shoppers are being sold short when expensive electrical goods break down. If a TV or fridge packs up just one day after an initial one-year guarantee, customers are told they have to pay for the repair - but the truth is that retailers may be liable for up to six years.
