Loewe Aconda and sudden NTSC 'mosaic effect'

Hi

Ive had my Aconda for about 1 and half years now and had no problems. I usually watch NTSC films or play NTSC games. However a couple of days ago I noticed 'stripy wavy lines' in certain portions of the left and right sides of the screen. The effect shows up more in some scenes than others and ONLY appears during NTSC play.

It NEVER did this before, is my tube taking a beating?

Thanks for ANY advice in advance...

Mr groundy
You seem to know a awfull lot about the loewe tv's.
So hope you can help.
My dealer tells me the articos has a Tosh.... tube en the aconda
which I compared it with a phillips.

What would be a "better" tube?

And does the tosh... also suffer moire effect ?

kind regards Jeroen

Does anyone know if the speakers in the Articos are different from the ones in the aconda or vitros?
because of the "system" maybe it would also be Bose?

kind regards jeroen

As far as I know, the Articos uses a Philips Tube just like the Aconda. This might not be difinitive though. Some Vitros and Aconda 9281ZW (Living range) models used to use a Toshiba Tube but I'm not sure if they still do. Only way to tell is to take the back off the set and look at the sticker on the tube....or try the Loewe helpline.

That's difficult to answer. Loewe obviously believe either tube is good enough for them so that should be good enough for us. That said, I wanted to make absolutely sure I got a Philips Tube in my Aconda by getting the 9381ZW model. I only did this because I had problems with a previous Toshiba TV and returned it so I didn't want to end up with another Tosh tube.

Good question but I've never tested a Tosh equipped Loewe TV so don't know if the moire is present or not.

Been busy whole afternoon finding out what would be better and what is in the articos.
I called belgium and finally got somenbody who did as he new things.
according to him the articos that is being shipped now have tosh...tube's,and the ones that are now at the shops stock are the ones with the phillips tube.
According to him there wil be now difference in picture(something I can't imagion by the way ).
So now just have to look for the difference between the 2 tubes.

He also stated that there was no oroblem anymore with the moire effect,The only one that still has that problem is the vitros he said, they are working on it !!

kind regards jeoen
