Fergusson M3616UT tuning problem

Hi

I'm new to this forum, having been guided here by someone on ntsc-uk.com (excellent gaming forum)

Can anyone help? I have a Fergusson 14", model no M3616UT.

I have used it for some months without problem, almost exclusively in combination with my Gamecube. Now I find that I cannot access any channels apart from the two AV channels, and with these I get a permanent roaring noise though picture and sound are both present.

When I try automatic or manual channel set up the screen is blank - it does occasionally pick up a channel but only for a few seconds.

Do I need to send it to be repaired or might it be a problem I could deal with (given that I am technically lacking) ? My only hunch is that I may have inadvertently turned on the access control.
